Welcome to the Applied Plasticity & Learning Lab!
Plasticity is the capacity for change and is a hallmark of our nervous systems. It is the mechanism that allows us to learn from and be shaped by our experiences.
The primary goal of our research is to understand what experiences can positively and negatively affect our cognitive capacities and emotional well being with a focus on developing and testing interventions designed to enhance mental performance.
Our work falls into 3 general categories.
I. The effects of modern technology use on cognition.
II. Targeted training of mental processes.
III. The role of individual differences in plasticity and learning.
To study these questions, we use a variety of research methods including behavioral studies, EEG and ERP work and large on-line surveys.
If you are interested in participating in one of our studies or joining the lab, please email Dr. Minear firstname.lastname@example.org.
